Resistive Touch

The resistive touch panel is mainly composed of two sets of upper and lower ITO conductive layers. When in use, pressure is used to make the upper and lower electrodes conduct, and the controller detects the voltage change of the panel and calculates the position of the contact point for input.

4-wire resistive touch panel

The four-wire resistive touch panel detects the position of the coordinates by the principle of voltage. In terms of structure, the upper layer of the four-wire touch panel
Conductive film is used, conductive glass is used for the lower layer, and the upper and lower layers are separated by tiny balls. When using, first connect the upper conductive film and the lower conductive glass to a voltage of 5V. When the user presses the touch panel with a finger, the voltage changes, and then the upper layer conducts electricity.
The film can provide the coordinate information of the X axis (or Y axis), and the conductive glass of the lower layer will provide the coordinate information of the Y axis (or X axis). After knowing the X-axis and Y-axis coordinates, the position where the finger is pressed can be calculated.

5-wire resistive touch screen

When the upper ITO film is compressed and contacts the lower glass, electrical conduction detects the area of contact.
An important feature of 5-wire resistors is that only the lower glass has a detection function. Even if the upper ITO film is damaged, the detection function is not affected (except for the damaged area).
